Art & Culture Arlington MA
There are two independent theaters located in Arlington (Art Arlington MA). The Regent Theatre brings regional, national, and international live shows to town. This historic theatre, originally built as a vaudeville house in 1916, hosts a variety of performances from stand-up comedians to musical groups to circus acts. The Regent has hosted Paula Poundstone, Mickey Rooney, Taj Mahal, Count Basie Orchestra, Ed Asner, and many more.
Arlington is also home to the Capitol Theater. This classic-style independent movie house has six screens and shows both new and classic films. Take note of the 1920s lobby and proscenium before you settle in with a box of fresh popcorn to enjoy the show. It’s also a great place to enjoy with kids as they regularly host family-friendly movie nights.

Throughout the year, Art Arlington MA comes alive with the arts in the form of special events that transform the entire town.
Porchfest
One of Arlington’s more unique events is Porchfest, a grassroots festival where bands take over porches around town all day long and fill the streets with music. More than 200 different acts perform, including home-grown to nationally-recognized performers playing all different types of music including jazz, folk, techno, rock and roll, and everything in between. Other well-established annual special events include Arlington Open Studios, the Arlington Jazz Festival, the Arlington Greek Festival, Town Day, and the Arlington International Film Festival.
