“Stumbled upon a jewel in Arlington Massachusetts: The Cyrus E. Dallin Art Museum”
This is how to learn history…in an intimate setting and through the eyes of an extraordinary sculptor. Cyrus Dallin created some of the most iconic artwork in this country: the Appeal to the Great Spirit welcomes visitors to Boston’s Museum of Fine Art and the monument of Paul Revere riding his horse located near the Old North Church. The museum is only open a few days a week so check the website for details. Take a two minute walk from the museum to a small park located between the library and town hall to see a Native American sculpture by Dallin that is just breathtaking. What an incredibly talented artist.

“A great little museum”
Cyrus Dallin lived an interesting life. He was born in Utah and then moved east. The museum is a small one but there is always a guide there to tell you the history of the artist and show you the various pieces of artwork. It is free to go through the museum, which makes it a great little place to go. It’s located in a little park in Arlington that is shaded and has old railroad ties running though it – a great little space to hang out with kids. Don’t forget to read the marker near the corner near Wood and Strings – it tells an amazing story.

“Great movie value!”
The Capitol Theatre is a great little theatre! It has old fashioned character and is value priced! They offer bear and wine and Richardson’s ice cream in addition to the usual movie fare! Love it!
